John Paul – Revolutionising The Property Industry, ARLA Property Mark And Why You MUST Know Him

There’s someone I want you guys to meet…

He’s not only a very good friend of mine, but also an advisor, a mentor, and the executive director to one of my companies, Smart Property.

John Paul has been in the property business for decades and in the five years I’ve been working with him, he’s been integral to the growth of my company and much of the success I have achieved.

John’s experience in the property industry is unrivalled, and as a member of The HMO Community, you can learn a lot about building and growing your HMO property business from him.

But before we get into that, let’s first get to know him a little better…


Who is John Paul?

From humble beginnings, John has built numerous successful businesses from the ground up. His main focus is the Castledene Group — a group of companies that specialise in property sales and lettings based in the North East of England. The Castledene Group manages over 2200 homes across 12 branches, so it’s a big outfit and a testament to John’s hard work and commitment to the industry and his business.

John and his businesses have won numerous awards including The Sunday Times’ Letting Agent of the Year (in fact he won this for 4 years in a row), ‘Sunday Times’ Outstanding Contribution To Lettings, and an Investors in People GOLD Award (the first letting agency in the country to be awarded this).

It was after winning the Outstanding Contributions To Lettings award that John was offered a seat on the board of ARLA PropertyMark. ARLA, or the Association of Residential and Letting Agents, is one of the groups that make up Propertymark — the largest estate and letting agent organisation in the UK.

John also has a couple of businesses outside the property sales and lettings sphere because for him, the principles of good business work no matter what business it is. John offers his skill in business as a consultant, and this has enabled him to apply his expertise to different areas of property (including HMOs) and he has helped a number of mentees reach their full potential by applying his advice and experience to their businesses.

With all this experience and awards under his belt, John is a uniquely decorated individual in the property industry but what’s more impressive is that despite all of this, John has never been too busy to offer his time or experience, and that’s in part because his businesses are so well structured.
